b3ta timer
get a furtive in your taskbar

Screenshot of taskbar with timer running, and tooltip shown.

PLEASE NOTE: This software does not work properly. I'm sorry about that. It's been broken ever since they changed the text in the title bar on the b3ta boards, so it no longer times how long you're looking at them. Only the front page, which isn't really much use. I would change it, but unfortunately I mangled my hard disk and I didn't have a backup of the code. And I'm a lot busier these days than I used to be, so I don't really have time to write it again.

I'm sorry about all that. Still, you *can* use it to get a furtive in your taskbar, and it does still time something. Just not as well as it did in it's heyday.

Ever wondered how much time you waste on b3ta? Well, now you can find out. This program will live on your system tray, and count up the time you spend looking at the b3ta site. (Actually it just looks counts up all the time you spend looking at a window whose title begins with "B3TA :" but you get the picture.) It will remember how much time you have spent when you quit it or restart your computer, so you can count up the time for a whole week or a month if you like.

To make it go, do the following:

1: Download this file, and unzip it to a directory of your choice.
2: Make a shortcut to it in the startup folder on your start menu (if you want to)
3: Run it.
4: To see how much time you have spent on b3ta, double-click the furtive icon in your system tray, or hover your mouse above the icon and it will tell you in a tooltip.
5: All I ask in return, is that you let me know if you love it, loathe it, or have any problems with it.
